Elaina Smith, FNP-C

Elaina Smith is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 28 years of healthcare experience. She graduated from Ricks College with a nursing degree in 1997 and has worked in southeastern Idaho since. She has extensive patient care experience in cardiology, acute care, medical-surgical, rehabilitation, and interventional radiology and vascular nursing. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from
Post University and graduated from Purdue Global with her nurse practitioner certificate.

Additionally, she is a simulation instructor at BYU Idaho and taught nursing courses at Eagle Gate Nursing College. She enjoyed learning urgent care, women’s health, and pediatrics during nurse practitioner school. She has a special interest in treating chronic recurrent urinary tract infections.

Elaina grew up on a farm near Rexburg and has lived in southeast Idaho her entire life. She loves learning, spending time with her 3 grandchildren, being outside, reading, and exercising. A goal she shares with her husband is visiting all 50 states.

Elaina states “patient-focused care has always been my priority. I aim to create caring relationships with patients, practice open communication, and provide positive physical and emotional health for those I serve. I believe nurse practitioners are well-trained to accomplish these goals, and I am excited to join Upper Valley Family Medicine as a provider.”
